Before the market opened today, I added 1/4 more of my target position in VWO. Currently I have 50% of my target. This takes my average price to $34.09 per share.
The street rates this EFT a HOLD. But I like the above average return, low expenses and tenure of the portfolio management.The Vanguard Emerging Markets ETF has returned an annual rate of 12.12% since inception, 58.75% in the last year, and 33.57% in the last six months. On total assets of $6.77 billion, VWO maintains a low expense ratio compared to its Emerging Market Equity peers of just 0.27% to cover all operating costs. The EFT, VWO seeks to track the performance of the MSCI Emerging Markets index. The fund employs a passively managed investment approach by investing all or substantially all of assets in a representative sample of the common stocks included in the MSCI Emerging Markets index. This index includes approximately 781 common stocks of companies located in emerging markets around the world. As of June 2009 the MSCI Emerging Markets Index consisted of the following 22 emerging market country indices: Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey.
