Same-store sales in Europe were up 7%, with stand-out markets including Germany, the U.K., France and Russia. In its Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa unit, same-store sales rose 5.2%, largely driven by China, Japan and Australia.
Overall same-store sales, those at outlets open at least 13 months, were up 5.3% for the month, McDonald’s said.
In the U.S. MCD grew 3.1% with the help of McCafe and Smoothie lines of beverages as well as the launch of Fruit & Maple Oatmeal to their breakfast menu.
Shares of McDonald’s rose almost 3% to $75.61 at the time of this posting.
